What is the Apropriate battery charging time for Nokia 6681 or 6680.

450816 2006-04-30 05:02:00 Would this depend on the type of battery that is used for the cellphone mentioned? For example, 2100mAh might require a longer period as opposed to 1000mAh? Someone out there please confirm this first.

Cheers :)

450817 2006-04-30 06:32:00 Yes,

1000mAh 1A for 1h plus * 10% more time for losses approx.
100mA for 10h *
250mA for 4h *
etc, you get the idea.

Charge terminated at this point in time or when the battery reaches a preset voltage and/or temperature.

So you need to know your battery's mAh capacity as well as the rate your charger works at in mA.

450818 2006-04-30 10:58:00 RTFM!

There is no need to go doing calculations. Let the charger do its work and let the phone handle the charging rate and time.

That's what the designers expected it to do, so why try to complicate matters? My Nokia stops charging when the battery is full, yours will too. If it hasn't stopped, the battery isn't fully charged yet!

Cheers

450819 2006-05-01 06:14:00 Is it true that you should only charge the battery when its fully down.
will this make the battery life longer?.

450820 2006-05-01 06:26:00 Thats what I have heard, but i doubt it, I top up my phone when it needs it, not when it dies, though I will let it die occationally... on things like my mouse or MP3 player, I let the batterys die just to get more use out of that charge :D The_End_Of_Reality (334)

Not necessarily, it could be injurious to the battery.

I agree, I have never really stopped to consider how long, I just put it on charge if it beeps or if the indicator looks low, usually o'night and sometimes use the car charger for a few hours on a trip. I think they had a user like me in mind when they designed them. Ive had mine (nokia 6820) for a long time now and battery holds charge as good as it did from day 1
