To do what properly?, Im sure they buy the bikes so they can enjoy riding them and meeting/socialising with people with a similar interest, In which case a HD or any modern bike would suit em perfectly. Sure Nortons were the big thing in their day, but that day was 30 years ago ,By todays standards they are junk, and BSA were sad little bikes even in their prime. they belong in a display, not on the road, and most certainly not in the hands of someone who wants to be able to hit the road on a sunny day without spending more time making sure their 30 year old relic will last a couple hours of (uncomfertable) riding. |

Simply because they're of a certain age where the images of their youth were the likes of Easy Rider etc and they're simply trrying to retain/regain that image. Or perhaps they've lived and earned half a life-time, and now can afford the luxury of owning one of life's great motorcycle symbols. |

| 449694 | 2006-04-28 05:23:00 | funny story I was talking to the recently divorced and re-mortgaged guy up the road and he mentioned he was going to buy a bike and I immediatly launched into this great rant about what a good idea it was and how a little bike would save alot of money on petrol and how sensible this idea was and how mature he was and all that and then he says he's buying a Harley 1200 and all the leathers. :D |
