2008-08-12 09:02:00 | I am operating wireless broadband and have had no issues until recently. Mine and my flat mates laptops both say they are connected to the internet with excellent strength however when attempting to open a browser it says server cannot be found. This happens intermittently and it eventually connects, sometimes within a few minutes, sometimes the next day. Can anyone tell me what the problem may be please? My ISP has said the problem is not at their end. Thank you.

2008-08-12 10:05:00 | Welcome to Press F1 Bex - by any chance do you have Zone Alarm as a firewall, if so disable it and see if you can connect. Also what make and model Router do you have ??

We all have different ones, I am running AVG. It's weird coz it always connects but not until the laptop has been turned on for a significant period of time. The other laptops are doing the same thing. It's only stared doing it since my flat mate installed wireless on his computer, but would that affect the rest of our computers? |

2008-08-17 08:28:00 | I'm not sure what you mean, "returned packets upon pinging a website", I have no idea?? | bex8204 (14071) | |
2008-08-18 07:41:00 | Hi. Please pardon the complexity of my sentence. :) Start > Run > type in "cmd.exe" without the quotes In the window popped up, type "ping www.google.com" (again, without the quotes) Depending on the connection, the computer may successfully send data to the Google website and have them returned. You will be able to know this from the result message that follows the line "ping www.google.com" Cheers :)
