452434 2006-05-05 13:16:00 Just in case any of you are awake I just thought I'd help the media out and anounce that there is NO tsunami headed for New Zealand - at the moment. Winston001 (3612)

452436 2006-05-05 15:13:00 But - given the usual weather in Invercargill, would a Tsunami actually be noticed there? It could actually be an improvement in the pluvial conditions.

(Based purely on my personal experience of Invercargill weather only)

The non-existent Tsunami is a change from the non-existent flu pandemic.

452438 2006-05-06 00:51:00 Actually, you're wrong.
There was a tsunami on 4 May, only it was very small and it arrived much later than expected. It must have taken a roundabout route to get here. The waves are still coming in, but they're getting smaller and smaller.
See:

It stands out particularly well for Otago because the background noise is small.
