452131 2006-05-07 02:19:00 While I normally advise against loading any camera supplied software, the FinePxViewer is actually quite effective for transferring/auto numbering images from the camera to the hard drive.

I never connect the camera to the PC though, card readers are better I believe. As the S602 and Nikon both use proprietary cards (CF and SD) most card readers accept them. You need to be careful choosing a reader for xD, not all seem to take them (its a format proprietary to Olympus and Fuji only).

Not sure why they did that, as CF memory is so much cheaper, as is SD. I use a 1 GB CF, and several 512 MB SD's

In FinePixViewer, there is a "button" third from right at top, with the pic of a camera with an arrow to a folder. That does the transfer.

FinePixViewer is hopeless as an editor, but good as a transfer method. Its the simplest application to use to transfer however, I do recommend that you use it.

452134 2006-05-07 03:01:00 Hi C. I support Bazza's suggested naming of folders. I name my folders with date such as 06-03-21. If I have more than one sequence or event on a loading, and in the same folder, I rename the folder as "06-03-21 Bluff trip". I then create another folder 06-03-21 and name it such as "06-03-21 Invercargill" and drag and drop the approriate files from the first to the second folder. Instant access and recognition of any event/trip - even when you can't recall when it was you last visited Blackball.......
Anyway, congratulations on cracking it. I was beginning to dispair.
