452121 2006-05-06 09:51:00 But that is why it would be embarrassing.
Like turning up to a connoisseur car event in a "nearly new" Rover, you wouldn't quite know where to hide when you got there.

Your S5600 is , like, sooo yesterday.
Now if you had the S9500 it would be tempting.

But perhaps you also drive a Rover? (no, don't want to borrow that either thanks).
Any ESO errors yet?
Your argument might not be so bad if you had got the facts right.
Both cameras came out in Aug 2005,so technology on par.
We are talking here about a lower class of camera(s602),I mean if we want top of the line we would go SLR.
With regards ESO,no problems there, largely because I have no idea what ESO is.
The offer still stands.
The Spanish say it all as Scouse has pointed out.

452122 2006-05-06 13:57:00 ESO = Equipment Superior to Operator.
Also sometimes refered to as PICNIC (Problem Is Not In Camera) type errors.

We now expect quite a few of these going forward Cicero?
They are well known to service / help desks ... and forums.

Looking forward to err... helping?

452124 2006-05-06 22:01:00 Hi C. There's a black hoodie/cover/lid type thingy on the front end that stops the picture from entering the device. There's also a round switchy type thing on top right towards the front - turn it to its second click position. For some wierd reason it also stops the picture from entering the device if it is not turned or if it is turned only to the first clicky. ;)
Seek help anytime, 'cos I've had my device for some months. As I said earlier - who the hell needs a 120 page manual?
Did the device not come with a CD containing a downloading programme?
Just use Windows Explorer.

I have taken pics, now would like to have a look at them.
Lets hope GF is off on some foreign sojourn,so that I can impress him with my new found expertise.

452126 2006-05-06 23:54:00 Hi C. Assuming you don't have a card reader.....
Connect device to system USB port with the supplied umbilical cord.
Switch on device by turning top/front circular round protruberance to its first click.
Device is now alive and part of your system, with its files to be viewed, modified, named, moved to your hard drive, etc.
Good luck. It's a beautiful machine.

Thanks S,have done all of the above, but all I get on the Fine pix viewer is all the pics from my PC?
I see when I connect to usb that it is supposed to open the app,it doesn't.

452128 2006-05-07 01:39:00 Hi C . I have used the Finepix viewer to transfer pics from Fuji 602 & 9500 to the PC . I have two PC's, Win98se & XP . As you say, when the USB cable is connected & the camera switched on, the Finepix viewer should open, and show an option to transfer the camera images .

This worked fine on the Win98 PC, but didn't at first on the WinXP PC . I found that it was fussy about which USB port is used . I was using a short USB extension cable, to a port on the case rear . This is not recommended . Connecting the USB cable supplied with the camera directly to a front port solved the problem, and the Finepix viewer opened when the camera is switched on .

You will find that there are options in finepix viewer, to select a folder to D/L images to, and your preferred style of file name for the image . I find the the style of date/time very convenient . e . g . 2006_0507_123424 . This means every image gets a unique name based on the exact time when the image was photographed . If you D/L some pics next day, it creates a new subfolder named the days date . Keeps them separate, and easy to sort .

Good luck & enjoy .

452129 2006-05-07 01:53:00 Thanks Bazza.
By going to help,I was able to find the pics, can't believe how complicated a route by comparison with my 1 mill pixel Creative app.
I will look at all your advice and implement.Ta again.

452130 2006-05-07 02:12:00 Have you actually considered BUYING the camera, instead of just rambling on? Or have I missed a post where you said you did actually in fact outlay some cash? Greg (193)
