452657 2006-05-08 02:08:00 I was wrong , its a 98 GT (no R that I can see), Anyhow, It belongs to Mrs Metla.....
The motor in those,is said to be one of the best the world has ever seen.2.5lt.
They must have different mechanics in Auck, down here the cars of choice are Toyota and Nissan.
The R stands for racing, there isn't a Ford made that could touch that model.

452658 2006-05-08 06:41:00 Heh, My legs are pushed in on both sides, have to wide down the window in order to have a place for my elbom, head is mm's from the roof, The "shaped" seat pokes me in the back, resting a good 2 inches away from the edge of my body. Stupid pokey womens car.

Engine wise, lacks torque, Goes well when pushed hard, though last time I checked this was only good for blow hard boy racers wanting to hit 140 at the end of every street, Not an enjoyable motor for around town, fine out of town...but again, feels flat unless revved hard.

I would take a (good) Falcon over it anyday.

452659 2006-05-08 06:47:00 I can sell ya a 1995 Falcon Fairmont for 4 grand, More style then all those ladies cars put together.

And the petrol bill on that these days would put me right off. Great car though.

452660 2006-05-08 08:43:00 Uh...yeah....weekly petrol bill is more then my house payments.

Did I mention its for sale?

Going cheap, New owner should live a servo and have a large amount of disposable income, Has a half decent head unit, so even if they cant afford to run it, They can just hang out in it, suck back a couple of tinnies and crank the stereo.....

I hope you are replacing with a Fat Punto or the like, something that doesn't require a bowser anyway.

452662 2006-05-08 08:59:00 Top of the list so far is a 2006 Toyota Hilux SR5, with the V6 4L petrol motor.

Took one for a test drive on Sunday, Foot to the floor, Sucked back more petrol then the mighty Falcon.

Muhahahahahaha.......173kw of petrol burning goodness.

Toyota Chaser- about the size of a fairmont, only with non-optional proper build quality, reliability and good looks, oh, and with rear wheel drive and a three litre twin turbo. Sizzling!

452666 2006-05-08 11:47:00 Whos looking for the car here??/

Metla, I know where theres a few good Holdens for sale :p

To the original poster, I kinda lost my way reading about the Ford and Skyline, but I bought my Nissan Primera 2.0 bout 4 years ago ($6000), still got it, just topped 200,000k recently and still has the same get up and go :D. Would recommend a Nissan. Also had a few Mazdas (wont get any more), Toyota (was a good wee car, reliable), and a couple of Fords (not this late stuff they call Ford either... Mk1 Escort and a V6 Mk1 Capri (both rather unreliable but felt good to drive :D)
