The massive pile of batteries which must be replaced and disposed of, and the energy cost of production are factors overlooked in all the hype. Agreed. This is often overlooked. People see a battery but never think about the huge mining/manufacturing infrastructure behind it. That has a cost in energy and environmental terms. Then there is the small matter of dealing with all the heavy metals in the battery when it is finished with. Nevertheless electric/hybrid vehicles are likely to be common until a better technology is developed. I can't see us going back to horses and carts. Name a time in recent history when technology was given up and humans went back to a more primitive ways.	Winston001 (3612)
