452102 2006-05-04 23:25:00 Canon PowerShot S2IS isn't a bad choice, it has LCD in the eye piece and eye adjustment on the view finder, uses 4xAA batteries which is a bonus, because those 2400mAH rechargables are relatively cheap to buy.

Major features includes

- Image Stablizer both for Pictures and Movies
- Super macro (zero distance)
- 12X optical zoom
- 1.8-inch tilt-and-swivel LCD monitor

too much to list

Thanks SkT,had a look at that looks good as do the rest,I will stick by the S5600 or I may get a clout from Scouse . ;)
Do you know that next month on Thursday at two minutes and three seconds after 1:00 in the morning, the time and date will be

01:02:03 04/05/06!

That won't happen again for another thousand years !!!

452104 2006-05-05 00:17:00 Hi C. Patience dear boy. But I do worry about you. It's been months since the topic of the s5600 was first raised and we are moving through autumn and in to winter - opportunities for magnificent shots which you may never get again are slipping by. Do be a good lad and save me from worrying about you.
It's only money and you can't take it with you.

452106 2006-05-05 00:48:00 Hi C. I sense a purchase coming up. Can I suggest that you negotiate with the lucky vendor to have him/them throw in a decent memory card. The 16 MB card wihch comes with the s5600 will allow you to take about half a dozen quality photographs only. Scouse (83)
452107 2006-05-05 01:44:00 And I thought I was the master of digression .

Oh, I though you were more tha master of deviation, or should that be deviance

Back on topic, what is the next most significant date that will re-occur a little sooner than 1000 years? For moi, it's the last day of August .

Now, be a good fella, shake the moths out of your wallet and get the damn camera will ya .

Oh! and, of course I meant to say Fuji not Sony in my first post in this thread . And I agree with the Scouser, get a decent size card for the thing, in fact get two, it's all very well being all powered up and having a sack load of spare batteries just to run out of film when the shot of the day presents itself .

Scouser, a question for you: How fast can you change a wheel, actually, forget the changing bit, how fast can you remove a set of car wheels?

452108 2006-05-05 02:00:00 Hi M. I feel a catch here... However, takes me back a few years. Depends on darkness/cover. Depends on whether I was able to make noise. Depends on whether I was using a trolley jack or just a length of 4 x 2 and what I had as a fulcrum. Depends on how close other cars were in the car park. Quicker than you can imagine really. Scouse (83)
452109 2006-05-05 02:37:00 The topic takes you back years??? I thought it was inbred, intinctive, a compulsion that you could stop as easily as you could stop your heart from beating .

Anyway, I hear rumours that Ferrari are to replace their F1 pit crews with scousers, so impressed were the Ferrari big cheeses during a visit to scouser territory, where they experienced first hand an impromptu demonstration of the spped and skill of the locals at servicing a vehicle (the big cheeses' vehical that is), that they sacked their own crews on the very next day .

But I digress, how fast, given ideal conditions . You never know, you might get a call up from McLaren :)
