It has only given me 4 Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool Update for background intelligent transfer service windows installer 3.1 and update for Windows XP I am still trying to get the rest but so far that is all its done. When we purchased the computer it came installed with Windows 98 but a year later we upgraded it to XP Pro (legitly) Cool - because non legit stuff can cause many problems, and forum rules forbid helping . Have a look at something please, click start/run type in eventvwr Press enter, look at the system and application logs, see if there are any errors, esp a list/bunch that would indicate something failing, the odd 1 is not really a major worry, if there is a "bunch" please double click to open 1 of the entry's, and copy paste the contents here.	wainuitech (129)

Thats OK - Looks like your problem ---- 8/14/2008 11:55:41 PM Disk Error None 7 N/A TINKERBELL The device, \Device\Harddisk0\D, has a bad block. Thats a failing set of sectors on the Hard drive. Simple explanation: There are millions of sectors on a drive, sectors are where data is stored, if they fail then data is usually lost. Its a bit like having a jig saw puzzle with bits missing. IF you want to test the drive download Hard Drive regenerator (http://www.dposoft.net/) run it and I it will show the failed sectors, its free to try, and what I use to confirm a knackered drive - its meant to repair them - but I wouldn't trust it - may be better off with a new Hard Drive.	wainuitech (129)
