" nope . . . not really . . . . . . . with pre-pay's, you pay both ways . . . in and out . I use a pre-paid phone called a "TracFone", that cost about $20US for 120 minutes, over 3 months, and if you don't let it expire, you can carry over the time you have at the end of each billing period . The phone most likely used are the NOKIA 5180i . . . . I don't have the faintest of frequencies or much else . . . it just works . . . BTW: It is a digital unit, but I also have an older analog that has three times the range and clarity . We get them here at garage sales (kinda a used anything sale on someone's front lawn) and they are useable as a "911" (emergency calls only) type of phone . All phones, no matter if they are in service with paid time or whatever are guaranteed to at least be able to reach "911" or "O" (the letter, not the number) for operator, our national emergency hot line .
