697231 2008-08-14 09:08:00 Our preschool bought a brand new colour laser printer: Fuji Xerox Docuprint C3210DX last month. It's a nice printer with true 1200x1200 resolution, but we have this problem that every day it decides to change its IP adress, does anyone know why this is happenning?

I've networked all the two desktops and three laptops to print to the printer via wireless Dlink router.

I'm currently using DCHP, someone made a comment today that I should use static ip, will that fix it?

Thanks

697232 2008-08-14 09:17:00 Does it have a config page? (ie open IE/FF and navigate to it's IP eg http:// 123-456-789-101)

You could set a static IP in there.

Or maybe in a Xerox utility.

697233 2008-08-14 09:20:00 Static IP is always a good idea for network printers. I have more than 10 printers at work and all of them have static IPs. ronyville (10611)
697234 2008-08-19 04:49:00 Hi everyone, I re-read the mnanual that came with the printer and it does warn about the changing IP address scenairo when the printer is used as a network printer and suggested to make sure the settings are changed to BOOTP or WARP so I changed it to BOOTP and the problem is solved, no more IP address changing after every day! pythagros (13360)
