I am with Overdrive here, We are a few years behind unbundling so it will be a few more years before we get high Def TV

Any way what’s so special about high Def TV then what we have now??

Well if you go and look at a hidef movie or sports fixture and then look at the same movie on PAL broadcast then you will see the difference and not want to go back to regular TV..

452246 2006-05-05 07:01:00 IS TVNZ even comtemplating it? :help:Don't know about TVNZ, but I read that Sky is planning on offering HD broadcasts in about 18 months time. FTA stations will eventually have to do it or they will start loosing viewers, especially as bigger screen sizes become more and more affordable and the internet gets faster and faster. :)

Any way what’s so special about high Def TV then what we have now??If your TV is less than 32-inches, not much. But if you have a screen above that size you should be able to see a huge improvement in image detail. If you haven't seen any HD content before, then check out some of the examples here (www.apple.com) or here (www.apple.com). :)

452247 2006-05-06 01:11:00 Excellent, once Sky implement HDTV, we can expect the masses to loudly proclaim that the Government should force Sky to "unbundle" their HDTV equipment so the other broadcasters can have free access to it. :p Antmannz (6583)
452248 2006-05-06 03:14:00 we may get HDTV programming when telecom release their IPTV. they can offer HDTV programmes(most shows i usa are filmed in hdtv now and nz broadcasters lower the quality when they screen the show in nz). there is HDTV IPTV set top boxes(look on pace's website). telecom won't need an HDTV satellie cuz the tv will come through broadband connection. lance4k (4644)
