2006-05-04 10:25:00 | How many threads do we need about this? The UBS network is OVERSUBSCRIBED. Performance WILL vary. There isn't ANYTHING you can do about it, and there is very little your ISP can do about it, and even less the people here can do about it. Flogging a very very dead horse.

2006-05-04 23:58:00 | Looks like Telecom is deliberately cutting speed. Ninja is right, there are already a million threads on this. The equipment in a lot of exchanges can't handle everyone being on 3.5 or whatever.

2006-05-05 01:25:00 | A million threads eh! It must be a big issue then that fully justifies the inches it's given, i.e. it's topical  | Murray P (44) | |

The equipment in a lot of exchanges can't handle everyone being on 3.5 or whatever. that exactly what i think will be the case. with unbundling it will certainly show up how good/bad telecoms network is, and i suspect it will be bad. it certainly explains why they have drip fed the speeds over the years while they have slowly upgraded the system to cope with the huge amount of traffic the faster speeds generate. |

2006-05-05 02:50:00 | The backbone, and the exchanges are overloaded by all the threads complaining about slow broadband. Speed will increase only when people stop complaining about it. ;) | Graham L (2) | |
