452081 2006-05-04 08:20:00 Went into Dickies to buy a S5600($546).
The chap tried to sell me the Panasonic FZ7($697)
The plus side was a lcd in the eye piece, adjutable for eye condition,+++ other features, the downside for me is the type of battery, one that if it goes flat whilst away from charger, you are in trouble.a second battery is over a $100.
I would love the opinions from those that know about these things.
I asked if he had any S602's,I couldn't stop him from laughing, some people are so rude. ;)

452082 2006-05-04 08:35:00 I'm a bit rusty on the cameras Cici, but I'll blunder ahead anyway.

What do you want it to do?

The S602 is getting a bit long in the tooth now, you can probably exceed it's performance quite comfortably without draing the wallet, all the same, I'd take my business elsewhere, but that's probably just me, can't abide rudeness you know

For myself I'm not too bothered by having the proprietary batteries my Canon uses, there are cheaper places to lay your mitts on them than the listed retail of places like Trickies, but I can also see the logic of being able to source replacements in your local dairy. What I was more concerned with, apart from the performance of the camera, was having a fairly universal storage medium, in my case CF card or micro drive.

Lastly, I've not heard bad things about the Sonys', I'd tend to lean that way than a Panasonic, again I'm a bit out of touch though.

452083 2006-05-04 08:39:00 He laughed?

I would have asked him if he was some sort of idiot.
Then I would have asked if he thought I was an idiot.

Then I would have told him he must be f******g with me, And then I would have asked him if he was f******g with me.

Usually upsets them quite nicely.

452085 2006-05-04 08:59:00 Murr,I like the fact that these 2 cameras can zoom to 10x and with an adaptor can double that as well as go wide angle,28mm equivalent.
I am not a pic taker of note( )it,s just that I like to pick the one that is the least annoying.
Met that was a joke with someone who must go un-named,don't want to upset, again.
As always got a laugh from your wit.

Ya, I know, I was just using it as an opening to detail my version of the "are you laughing at me, do you think im funny?" routine for DSE sales assistants...
