| 697869 | 2008-08-17 03:41:00 | Hi Guys Whenever I start up this computer lately it takes age to load fully, checking the error logs a service is failing to start each time. I fixed the first service problem and since then another has popped up completely unrelated to the first, but can't start either. Heres the current service problem: The NVR0FLASHDev service failed to start due to the following error: The system cannot find the file specified. Done a scan with NOD32 no problems there. Hijack this shows a whole lot of services with missing files (see log below). Anyone know what the problem could be? Thanks Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2 Scan saved at 3:00:40 p.m., on 17/08/2008 Platform: Windows 2003 SP2 (WinNT 5.02.3790) MSIE: Internet Explorer v7.00 (7.00.6000.16705) Boot mode: Normal Running processes: C:\Program Files\ESET\ESET Smart Security\x86\ekrn.exe C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VS7DEBUG\MDM.EXE C:\WINDOWS\RTHDCPL.EXE C:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64\ctfmon.exe I:\HiJackThis.exe R1 - Why its saying the files are missing (and theyre on the hdd). If theyre on the hdd, dont worry about it Have you installed ALL of the drivers?? This: The NVR0FLASHDev service failed to start due to the following error: The system cannot find the file specified. May have something to do with Nvidia drivers (Ntune). Some sites say to go to device manager, view menu / show hidden devices and uninstall NVR0FLASHDev |

| 697871 | 2008-08-17 04:14:00 | All drivers are installed. OS is XP Pro x64, so yeah it may not like it like a whole lot of other things. Just seemed weird that Windows can't find some services and HJT others. Thanks Speedy I think I'm going to go through and nuke everything by Nvidia and start again. |

| 697872 | 2008-08-17 04:29:00 | NVR0FLASHDev is part on Nvidia's ntune. Nvidia's ntune (fileforum.betanews.com). If you locate that and remove it along with its startup entries the problem should be fixed. Just be careful ripping out everything by Nvidia, it will have side effects. |
