697703 2008-08-16 20:00:00 It is running on WinXP, Pen 4. I have all of the original disks but it will not boot up or anything. Any advise. puffins808 (14043)
697704 2008-08-16 20:11:00 So what does it do??

Does it go past the post screen and stop, and do nothing?

Does it work if you press F8 and try and select safe mode?

697705 2008-08-17 03:48:00 Aloha Speedy. It doesn't do anything. Will not go far to even be able to hit F8. Black screen. Turns on then immediatly shuts off. puffins808 (14043)
697706 2008-08-17 03:52:00 Does it give any beeps when you first turn it on? stormdragon (6013)
697707 2008-08-17 03:53:00 Thats usually a sign something is overheating, if you turn it on and it goes off within a few seconds.

I would open the case, and check that the CPU is on properly.

And check to see if the CPU fan is spinning

Could you please go into detail on how I would accomplish that.

697709 2008-08-17 04:02:00 First thing to check would be that all your fans and heatsinks aren't full of dirt and dust. stormdragon (6013)
