The clips pictured before in post 34 "look" like Retention clips, but may not be CPU clips- take another look at the CPU heat sink, does it feel like its on solid, and also look at This Picture (www.imagef1.net.nz) look where the arrow is pointing, is that a clip that runs inside the heat sink from one side to the other ? |

| 697765 | 2008-08-17 09:34:00 | The Retention mechanism hook look identical from the picture and the Clip frame latches are broken...so that is probably why it was just laying inside near it. Do you think it is just that? I know I need to add more memory but other than that do you think it is just because the heatsink is not on there securely? |

| 697772 | 2008-08-17 09:56:00 | If the clip frame latch is broken but the retention mechanism is OK (on the motherboard, like the pic I posted, (the 2nd pic)and its still got the 4 squares on all sides. Then all you have to do is buy another fan, which should come with the heatsink and the clip frame (the bit that gets clipped onto the retention mechanism on the mobo Then its all go |
