The explorer crash seems to be the only one still happening, there have been a couple of other things but I think they were unrelated and I have now sorted them (hopefully!)

698106 2008-08-23 04:06:00 Lots of errors popping up today, the ones after about 12:00 are ones that occurred after I had ticked the Hijack This options and rebooted. I've also ran a scan disk and it was all clear.

Forgot to say, no PowerReg is not installed, I've done a search and can't find it.

698107 2008-08-23 04:13:00 Click on the link it gives you

ie: this go.microsoft.com

Some of those errors gives you sites / link to fix it

Is Windows search actually installed?

Some of those errors I wouldnt worry about. You just have to figure out why explorer.exe is crashing

BUT does Powerreg appear in add/remove programs?? Did you tick it then tick fix checked in the log?

698108 2008-08-24 09:31:00 I know the cause of some of them as I installed some updates and then uninstalled them 'cos I didn't like them e.g. Windows Search. The only consistent problem is the explorer.exe crashes that are happening very regularly and are driving me mad. I think I'm gonna have to reformat, I may try the Repair Windows option first, but it'll have to wait until next weekend. SO if anyone can think of any causes between now and then I'd be very grateful :)

No, PowerReg does not appear in the Add/Remove programs list and yes I did tick it in HijackThis.

Lots of errors again today, all explorer.exe related :(

698109 2008-08-24 09:50:00 I have a feeling your hdd is knackered. I would buy another hdd. The hdd has data corruption

Did you run chkdisk before for this?

The file system structure on the disk is corrupt and unusable. Please run the chkdsk utility on the volume C:.
