455044 2006-05-15 18:36:00 I don't know what a DNS is. Much less a DNS server. And I don't want to know. I just want fast internet.

For the past couple of weeks I have perfect service from 4.30 am until about midday. Connecting at just over 3 giga? Afternoons slow down to about 2. Evenings are well under 1

Last night my IHUG connectionwas recorded at 0.64

This at 5.00 this morning
"Your current bandwidth reading is:

2.78 Mbps

which means you can download at 356.18 KB/sec. from our servers."

I've been on to IHug and they claim it's Telecoms fault.
I wonder who Telecom blames.

455047 2006-05-16 13:00:00 I glad its not just me that is having issues. As of now my susposedly 3.5mbit connection is crawling. It took almost a minute for the text box to load on this page and the icons for text formating above it still haven't loaded. I'm only loading this page, nothing else. I would much rather go back to paying $5 more and have my connection actually work, is anyone else having timeout problems all the time? eg: browsing to this topic took 3 or 4 refreshes to get past timeout errors each time i went to the next page.

oh yeah, I'm on Quicksilver.

Funny thing is, before TC introduced the 'cheaper, faster, bb' I had relatively few problems with my qsi connection.

455052 2006-05-16 22:25:00 Yeah I'm still having problems. This post did load on only the 4th try this time though :P I'm starting to think that maybe I have something set up wrong, does anyone know of any changes that were made after the new plans were released that could be affecting me? (other than reduced bandwidth). Dialup is faster than this. cold_fusion (6537)

Even though they aren't the DNS orcon tell you to use, they're ns1.orcon.net.nz and ns2.orcon.net.nz. The only reason I don't use the others is that I haven't memorised them. heh.
