Actually, The Daily Telegraph has never been the same since the demise of Peter Simple, I used to like his column with characters like J. Bonnington Jagworth et al. Edit: The Telegraph was without doubt the best of the British daily papers, I agree with you there :) |

| 455161 | 2006-05-16 04:07:00 | New Zealand: natural gas, iron ore, sand, coal, timber, hydropower, gold, limestone+ New Zealanders (in some cases an untapped resource of natural gas - eg Safari, daveconz, superuser et al) and Kiwi ingenuity... these are also natural resources. | Greg (193) | ||

And amazingly she is NZ's most favoured PM. One has to wonder what is being left behind from the mad exodus. |

| 455164 | 2006-05-16 04:56:00 | Yes, I'm starting to feel like an idiot for hanging around here while the rest of my family and friends high-tail it to sunnier shores, but then I'm in that category where: I am a born NZer Single, don't have kids, so can't get DPB/Family assistance/working for families crap Self employed, so give half my earnings to Helen and her cronies Live in Auckland, so pay a disproportionate amount of my petrol tax to keep the rest of NZ going. Believe me- if you're an imigrant (sp?) on a 'low income', with kids and a mortage you've got it made. The government gives me absolutely nothing in the way of incentives/hand-outs because I'm single, educated and earning my own keep. Seems I'm now also being asked to pay for 'looking after battered wives', tolls for driving on Auckland streets (that I've already paid for in petrol tax and GST on the petrol tax), a railway line for the World Cup... sure there's a few more I can think of. I would sincerely like to see any NZ government actually give something back to those who work their butts off to get ahead and who also contribute a large amount to the tax take so other people can be paid to have babies, take maternity leave then get even more money just to sit around and 'look after' the offspring. Rant over... Ozzy is looking ever more inviting  . |
