Internet computer support message boards? Where did you get that idea?

And doctors? Don't count on them being 100% accurate all the time!!! Chemists are a better bet since they usually will consult the fine print info included with the medicine, or one of their large books or PC databases.

As I stated above, get the details from a (valid) online pharmacy or direct to the drug manufacturer's web site.

454426 2006-05-13 03:07:00 I'm taking penicillin for my sore throat, would it be wise to have a few drinks whilst on these antibiotics?

I'm surprised your doc is prescribing abs for just a sore throat. I thought these days everyone was aware that taking ab's for minor ailments considerably reduced their efficacy when needed for major infections.

Anyway get better soon and have a drink for me!

454427 2006-05-13 03:37:00 doctors are generaly idiots, they do as little as possible and give you as little info as possible when you go to them. They arent interested in getting you to proper health, there interested in money, so the longer they can keep you sick, and the more times they can get you to keep coming back(more doctors bills) the more money they can get. i dont go to the doctor, ever, havnt been in years, i just let what ever is troubling me fix its self, unless i get some lump or something, then id go to the doctor, probably..lol

also, antibiotics are stupid, if it was up to me, id only allow them to people that REALLY needed them, i mean REALLY. antibiotics shouldnt be taken for a sore throat, 99.9% chance it will fix its self, just not as quickly..the only people i know that dont know **** about antibiotics and dont care about the long term effects are women.

Yeh man go for the natural stuff and maybe continue to eat healthier. Prevention better than cure, especially when it comes to deciding when you should take bull**** pharmaceuticals and having to speak to someone in the mainstream medical profession who only have a certain view on things. I havent been to the dortors in years and the only reason I would is if I broke something.

Sounds like you need to find yourself a decent doctor. I agree doctors make mistakes, they are just people afterall and it would be unwise to put them on a pedestal. But there are some very good ones out there and you may need to try a few before you strike a good one.

Antibiotics are good for a Strep throat. Not for every sore throat but if the Dr has taken a swab and it comes back positive for Strep. then antibiotics are a good choice. The last thing anyone needs is streptococcus roaming unchecked through the body.

Your comment about the doctors wanting to keep you sick so they get more money is ridiculous. Seriously they have more than enough sick people to deal with and certainly don't want to see you more than once.
