| 453613 | 2006-05-10 05:26:00 | Geez Graham... thanks for the info overload! And blow me if you aren't right about that label/cable colour thing. I just took a closer look and yep, it's green/yellow and has a red plastic label thing wrapped around it! | Greg (193) | ||
| 453614 | 2006-05-10 05:30:00 | Just one more question... I initially thought that the sticky-uppy-into-the-ground thing was some sort of lightning protection. All of my neighbours seem to have lightining things on their roofs... I don't have any such thing. Am I in danger of being smitten? (apart from Bruce Buckman's version of course, who has a different way of smiting) ;) | Greg (193) | ||

I initially thought that the sticky-uppy-into-the-ground thing was some sort of lightning protection . All of my neighbours seem to have lightining things on their roofs . . . I don't have any such thing . Can you do a photo of this?, as i think it could be something to do with the hot water??? (apart from Bruce Buckman's version of course, who has a way with smiting) ;) LOL :D |

Thor does a great line in thunderbolts, I believe. If you are more concerned about the real threat from the voltage gradient from clouds to brass knobs on your bed posts ... it all depends. Do your neighbours' lightning arrestors "glow" in the dark in electrical storms? That would indicate that you get strong enough fields that stikes could occur. The ideal cheapskate protection would be to have a neighbour on a hill (or multistorey) with a lightning conductor high enough so that you're in the 45 degree cone. ;) |
