| 697922 | 2008-08-17 06:12:00 | pressf1.pcworld.co.nz Try getting a manual update :) A better AV is Avast (avast.com), however, AVG has gone downhill steadily since version 8 was released. |

| 697923 | 2008-08-17 06:18:00 | Found this whilst youse guys is sleeping: "Currently the update for AVG Free v8 is corrupted... you will have to wait for AVG Technologies to address the issue with the update. Reporting the issue again by other users here will not do any good util it is resolved. The updates that your AVG currently have will still provide the protection it is setup to detect. In otherwords, just getting this update will not make your AVG Free ineffective and as soon as AVG Tech resolves the issue you will be able to update to the current virus definitions at that time. So in short... please do not post to report the issue, its already known. Also please be patient until AVG Technologies can address the issue." Whew! That's a relief!!! |

| 697928 | 2008-08-17 21:58:00 | I new about it 12 hours ago Joe. :) AVG said the trouble started at 14:53 my local time and I reported it just a few hours later...so how could anyone know...unless they were "instrumental" in the AVG problem? That of course was Saturday afternoon my time too..so it might have hit your place the same time. I saw several places in Mid-Europe when they had it happen at the same time..but remember that they are awake when we..you and I are sleeping. BTW: AVG fixed it this AM for me when I got the next auto-update. |
