BT, gnutella is ok, but it not on-demand like I want and not reliable either. My downloads of LOST have frequently been other TV shows, porn -- imagine if I put it on without checking and my wife goes hmmmm? With broadband speeds climbing, and HDTV on the rise, the time is now! Who's going to be the one to take my money?? DVDs are soo yesterday. :D |

| 457489 | 2006-05-25 00:23:00 | one person i know has a good mate in the US who simply records the program off cable for him then uploads it to him, o the joys of cheap broadband. frankly the NZ market is slow. we had to download a movie (dvd rip) beacuse that movie was never sown in the theatres here and wasn't advaiable on DVD. i think it was shown on tv a few YEARS later :( |

DVDs are soo yesterday . :D Braodband speeds are barely climbing, with many people getting slower performance than they had on there old plans . Streaming legal TV and legal movie downloads for NZ are coming but the recommend minimum for streaming DVD quality is around 8MBps . So the the time is not now at all . I can see a time when we simply stream TV's and movies from our entertainment provider, but not on 3 . 5Mb and 10 gig small data caps lol . At least the dumb asses that state "10 gigs is heaps" and you must be a pirate if you need more seem to be slowly dissapearing . |
