456536 2006-05-21 03:08:00 It seems that the official Microsoft Xbox (original, not 360) controllers come with just a 30 day warranty. Strangely enough the instruction manual asks you to read your Xbox console's manual to see how long the warranty on them is.

I was talking to a technician about this a few days ago and he told me that electronic items have to come with at least a 12 month warranty now and that the controllers should also be included in this.

Does anyone know if this is correct and if it is would it also apply to the controllers? The thing with the warranty not being written on the controller manual is sort of saying something (I think).

BTW I'm very keen on knowing this because I've had two sets of faulty controllers already (not Microsoft ones but anyway) and so I really want some kind of security this time (30 days is pathetic).

So get your reciepts and take them back. They have to either replace them, repair them and refund you. Some places will fight a bit, so don't be scared to get "pushy". Remember your in the right.
