455628 2006-05-18 03:27:00 I just tried to install a Microsoft Application for Managing USB Drives.

I had .Net 2.0 installed but not .Net 1.1, which it said it required.

I now need to to have 2 frameworks instead of one loaded.

Backward Compatibility = as TUI says, "Yeah, Right"

455629 2006-05-18 04:34:00 Yeah that's pretty annoying isn't it - I found that out too when trying to install ATi CCC on a fresh install with .NET 2.0...

Still, not too much of a big deal - at least they dont fight with each other

455630 2006-05-18 06:31:00 Yup, I came across that too, with the ATI drivers .

Only thing was the latest ATI drivers didnt want to keep my settings, for the video out connection, on the videocard .

I tried 3 different versions of the latest ATI drivers . None could keep my settings . I had to change them, everytime I rebooted .

So, the latest drivers got the biff, and I installed the drivers off the cd, that came with the videocard . They maybe old, BUT at least they work, and dont need . Net 1 . 1 or 2, to work .

And you only have to press 1 button for a pic to come up on a TV .

Whereas, for the latest ATI drivers, there's too much mucking around . And it doesnt work anyway!

455631 2006-05-18 06:45:00 Tell me about it, I was wondering why my current card went all wonky with .net 2.0 and ATI CC. Thats all fixed but from now on, my next card will be an Nvidia based. None of that bloated .net crapware to slow my computer down. bob_doe_nz (92)
455632 2006-05-18 11:49:00 Yeah I don't know what the hell they have done with that CCC but its quite painful to use - is laggy the right word? HadO (796)
