698505 2008-08-22 03:03:00 Thanks everyone, sounds like Seagate is a goer then! Cicero, where did you see one advertised for that price? I looked at a few sites but they were much dearer than that. Beemer (6956)

698507 2008-09-02 03:04:00 Thanks all, I got 2GB of RAM today and already I've noticed the difference. Even the appearance of type on the screen as I enter it seems faster - may be imagining it - but the computer is a lot better now. The external hard drive is coming too, so at least I'll have a back up. And I feel quite proud of myself, after being told how to do it, I was able to remove my current RAM to see what I had, and I was able to install the new RAM all by myself! Beemer (6956)

698511 2008-09-02 04:16:00 I'll have to ask my husband first... LOL!

Not sure if the party is suggested because I am a girl (albeit an OLD girl!) or because I was a girl who was clever enough to fit the RAM herself... in which case I expect you're about to get flamed!
