2008-01-15 00:13:00 | Things havn't changed much since two years ago. Slowways are just as slow and unreliable as ever, and PBT is crap. NZ Couriers FTW. | wratterus (105) | |

2008-01-15 06:40:00 | I've actually had very good experiences with PBT - stuff has always arrived on time and intact. The Courierpost driver in my area would throw packages from the street at my door... (which stopped very quickly after I complained to Courierpost's head office), and Fastway dropped my PC and damaged it, then refused to pay out to have it repaired. | somebody (208) | |
2008-01-15 06:44:00 | Am I just unlucky, or are all couriers bad news? PBT: I ordered a case of wine from Blackmarket 2 weeks before going away for a week. A week later, when it hadn't arrived I emailed Blackmarket and explained I needed the case before I went away otherwise it would sit on my front door step advertising to all that I was away. The winery tracked it down. It was in the driver's van and would be delivered tomorrow. Then, they had an update, the driver had dropped the case and broken a bottle, so a new case would be delivered when I got home after my holiday. But the case of 11 bottles was delivered anyway and sat on the doorstep until a neighbour rescued it. Subsequently, when I got home, a full case was delivered. I now had 23 bottles of wine. I figured I deserved the 11 bottles as a bonus for the hassle, but I've never known a courier to be so efficient at picking up a package. A bloke in a tie called around in a car for them!! Post Haste: Again I ordered a case of wine from Blackmarket. After a week I emailed to say I hadn't received it. The winery checked it out and said the case had gone missing between Blenheim and ChCh, so they'd send another. Guess what happened 3 days later? Yes, 2 cases arrived. This time I bought the 2nd case and Blackmarket refunded my courier fee. Fastways: I work at home and the other day I heard a van door slam in our driveway. I looked out the window to see a Fastways van pulling out. There was a note in the letterbox saying there was no one home and I should call around and pick up a package from the depot way out in Hornby. The bloody driver was too lazy to even come to the front door. Next day I caught him as he drove up the drive and berated him about it. He didn't even have the grace to apologise. He just grunted. Mongrel!! Couriers? I HATE them.

2008-01-15 08:10:00 | I dont think you can blame the courier companies as a whole. It depends on the actual courier for your area. If he is useless bugger it doesnt matter what company he works for. I depend on couriers daily for engineering bits. NZC in the past had caused me mega grief taking 3 days to get stuff from East Tamaki to Massey. The couriers change quite quickly as they work out how much they earn. One courier told me his accountant said his annualised accounts profit showed he worked for less than $9 per hour. I have a good courier at the moment he wakes me up in the morning as the bits thump on my veranda. He is Indian gave him some give aways like calendar, hat etc but he refused a box of piss because he is Muslim. It wont be long before he goes and NZC put a tosser company driver on. C1

2008-01-15 10:33:00 | I am wondering how many compensation claims Courier Post will be receiving. During December we had about 12 different packages delivered by them. Twice I happened to be at the window, when a van drove up, wound down the window and a package was tossed out to land by my front door. They swung around and drove off. They may have been contracting out deliveries, because the van was (or had been) white and looked a little worse for wear.

Often they hire a van when when they crash theirs which in Auckland would be 3 times a year on average You have to pack stuff properly it gets tossed into bins in their depots as well. C1 |
