BTW: PCTek, Disprin is soluble Aspirin which is readily available.

456928 2006-05-23 03:15:00 For some reason (and I admit probably psychological!) Paracetamol does absolutely nothing for me. I could take a whole box and would not experience the desired effect. Doctors whoo haad, unconvinced that I am evolutionarily advanced. I do have approx 1000 generic paracetamol tabs free to a good home (I think the Doc got the jitters and added an extra 0 to the prescription).

Doesn't asprin reduce the likelyhood of strokes/heart attacks as well?... gee- cheap, fixes head aches as well as stress conditions caused by TV advertising of medicines ;)

456929 2006-05-23 04:20:00 Asprin is a blood thinner, so it theoretically reduces the likelihood of strokes in those people who are vulnerable (thinner blood = reduced risk of clots). somebody (208)
456930 2006-05-23 04:24:00 I am nearly a cot case with arthritis. When VIOXX was taken off the market the hospital specialist started me on Paracetemol to ease the pain - up to 8 a day. He said that the amount of normal asprin needed would cause significant stomach upset. I suppose you have to trust someone sometime.
He lied. I was taking a fair few after I broke my foot.
Yes, if you have an ulcer or somethng its probably not a good idea to take large quantities, but aspirin has antiinflammatory properties as well, unlike the artifiial ones with their nasty side effects.
My mother has had athritis of the spine for the last 40 years. She takes aspirin.
