456702 2006-05-23 00:11:00 Harvey Norman dont know what they are talking about ,most dvd recorders do have an edit function on them and although it is time consuming you can merge programs with others and delete ads make new chapters and then burn them to disc no problems at all.Philips dvd recorders all have edit functions most of the newer ones do and older ones, so dont listen to harvey norman they are only out to make a quick buck they will tell you anything in order to make a quick sale and nine times out of ten they are wrong. 456703 2006-05-23 00:14:00 With most of them, simple editing is achieved by inserting chapter breaks at the editing points, which can usually be set to within a frame or two, and then "hiding" the chapters you dont want to see. You need to set a break at the beginning and end of the chapter that you want to hide. andy (473)
456704 2006-05-23 11:14:00 The "basic" editing is more than adequate. Cut out sections, divide the clip, add a thumbnail, edit menu backrounds, name the clip, etc. basic yes, but all that you need. It isnt complicated, its easy, the best toy I ever bought. I prefer to make dvd's from my PC via TV out to the recorder, better quality, and the bees knees. Ideal for those downloaded TV Shows too tdale (10424)
