| 698477 | 2008-08-18 13:59:00 | I just got a Compaq SR1020NX from a friend today. It was working perfectly. I decided to add some more RAM and my ATI TV Tuner. I installed them and my PC wouldn't boot. I took them back out and my PC still will not boot, or beep, or anything. There used to be a bright green light when you first turn it on. That wont come on anymore. The little orange flashing light does though...and the fans spin...but it just wont do anything else. The other ram i put in was 266mhz, and the one that was in it was a 333mhz...does that mean anything??? I read elsewhere that if you use the wrong RAM it would fry out your motherboard. | ImagiNationFreak (14098) | ||

The "working" light stays orange, and the fans spin. There was a bright green light on the front that stayed on when the PC was on but now it doesn't light up. |

| 698482 | 2008-08-19 08:02:00 | oh by the way, when you stuck the new ram in there you started the pc, you did not smell any burned plastic?? | mark1978 (13845) | ||
| 698483 | 2008-08-19 16:41:00 | That's how it is now but it still won't do anything. When I got it, it smelled kinda funny on the inside but it still worked perfectly. I even got to reinstall windows and clean it up. I got it for free though so I can't complain. I can still use it for parts. | ImagiNationFreak (14098) | ||
