| 699474 | 2008-08-23 00:16:00 | There's a free app called Palringo IM (www.palringo.com) for the iPhone/iPod touch that you can get from the App Store (phobos.apple.com). It supports a bunch of IM services including Windows Live Messenger (formerly MSN Messenger), AIM, Google Talk, Yahoo! Messenger, Gadu Gadu, ICQ and Jabber. You need to register a Palringo account (www.palringo.com) but it only takes a minute. | sal (67) | ||
| 699475 | 2008-08-23 02:05:00 | Yeah, I use Palringo on mine. Just a word of warning: The iPod will "helpfully" turn the wifi off after a couple of minutes of inactivity to save power, so you can't just leave Palringo running and receive messages if you're not actively using it. | Nermal (7077) | ||

| 699479 | 2008-08-24 00:19:00 | The HTC (Okta) Touch is sold only by Telecom in NZ isnt it? Ive used them, and a myriad of other iMate / HTC devices, including custom firmware updates with additional functionality etc They're nice, but Im yet to find one that just works for me like the iPhone does. YMMV, so try going into a store and having a good play with the iPhone and a few other devices too :) |
