699444 2008-08-22 21:38:00 What is meant by this message which I get from my ISP Clear.
"User quota threshold exceeded - reduce space used."

I have assumed it was web mail box being full.
I have just received this message with only 3 pages used ?

I would have thought they would have auto empty after so many pages.
I can't see any settings for that facility.
Any help would be much appreciated.

699445 2008-08-22 21:43:00 It is not the number of pages used, but the file size of the emails. Why not delete the old ones? Jen (38)

I do delete the old ones, just wondered why they don't have auto clear as with xtra.
I say that because a chum who is with xtra has never been asked to clear box!.

699447 2008-08-22 21:57:00 Do you not use a mail program such as OE or Thunderbird
If you do you must have it set to leave mail on the server otherwise those messages would not show in webmail.

If you use webmail exclusively you need to monitor what you have there as any messages in any of the folders count towards you mailbox quota.
Once the quota is exceeded any new messages will be bounced back to the sender.

When you delete them you will also need to empty the trash folder as well to regain space.

ISPs don't delete mail from you Inbox, they don't have that authority.
There may be important messages there that the customer wants.

They may delete mail from the spam folder from time to time to prevent buildup but they would never delete from the Inbox.

It is up to you to monitor what messages you elect to leave on the server.
