| 699317 | 2008-08-22 04:57:00 | Install any new applications lately that might of bugged out the codecs? I use to get some pretty horrific problems with those bundled codec packages. One even killed my video card drivers. I just use 2 video programs. VLC (needs no codecs, plays everything out of the box) and SM Player (use it for playing Hi-Def videos as VLC tends to chunk a bit). |

| 699320 | 2008-08-22 05:54:00 | Some of those codec packs come bundled with spyware. Some also make a big mess of installed codecs thats VERY hard to fix (been there,done that:mad: ). Run a good spyware scan on the PC. Uninstall the codec packs & cross fingers. VLC has its own 'built in' codecs rather than the default win codecs (sort of) Just use VLC anyway. Save yourself alot of grief. It plays nearly anything. VLC is just a bit ugly (i like it), but when the movies playing, who cares. |
