458278 2006-05-27 12:24:00 This has been discussed and poo-poohed on PressF1 a number of times. I have just found one of them, try going here, then click "List all logo screens" and then downloading the "GalvinGreen logo tif we" on the far right hand side of the screen. I am downloading a 7meg .tiff in under a minute on dial-up, at about 40 kB/s. The other files do it as well.

galvin2.griffel.se

This test need to be done on dial-up. Does anyone have an explanation? The files show as the correct size on the HDD as well.

458279 2006-05-27 12:34:00 How is anyone supposed to follow that link? It's password-protected. Erayd (23)
458280 2006-05-27 12:36:00 I don't have any password, just looking through Golfing clothing and I came across these catalogues. zqwerty (97)
458281 2006-05-27 12:40:00 I'm having no trouble getting there from the link I posted using Firefox. I cleared all cookies and tried it. zqwerty (97)
458282 2006-05-27 13:07:00 It is still happening, I just downloaded another large file size .tif in under a minute! This can't be right but the file is listed as being the correct large size specified on the HDD, it didn't just appear by magic, maybe it is some sort of code where much data is duplicated and only seems as if it is downloading. My Firewall shows high speeds as well, so it is fooled too as well as my downloader. zqwerty (97)
458283 2006-05-27 13:40:00 You don't use fasterfox do you? (or something like it) Erayd (23)
458284 2006-05-27 13:42:00 It's definitely password-protected. Perhaps it also chesks the HTTP referer? What page did you come to it from? What is your ISP? Erayd (23)
458285 2006-05-27 14:55:00 I can't access the website either. Renmoo (66)
458286 2006-05-27 15:04:00 I have just cleaned cache, cookies etc then come here, clicked on the link here and gone straight to the page again no problems. Try disabling Java and then Javascript as well. I use this extension:

www.noscript.net

I am with ClearNet.

No browsing enhancements on my system just plain dial-up.

However if the site is password protected maybe we should curtail these experiments in case someone gets upset at their security being breached.

It is an up-market golf clothing site, I don't play golf but I am looking for some special lightweight and wind proof clothes, this is a brand that has a method of including a breathing plastic layer in the clothes, I already have one it is the best thing I have ever worn.
