Why can not the news media speak english? Reminds me when I went to Australia and had a look at my first Australian newspaper. Headline referred to an Ambo and I thought, " What is that?" I thought that an Ambo was maybe someone in a wheelchair. "Ambulatory" was what I was reminded of. After reading the rest of the story I figured it was an Ambulance driver. Later, in Sydney, they elected to get articulated buses to transport people. Fair enough. Then I read about a "bendy bus". I take it that the Australians can not articulate the word "articulated." I would not have a clue about Canterbury and whether they support 'saders or 'canes. |
