| 458008 | 2006-05-26 15:47:00 | Is it possible that Xtra have the worst broadband service in New Zealand? I have been having slow broadband for most of this week, so I thought I'd give Xtra a ring to see what is going on . I'd send them an email, but Xtra's email service is down . I phoned at 1:30am and got the help desk at 2:05 . How can it take over half an hour to get a response at 1:30 in the morning? My slow connection is apparently a problem at the local exchange which needs a techican visit, so I hate to think when that is going to happen . All this on top of the recent problems are making me wonder why I am still with Xtra . I'm not asking for much, just a reliable broadband service with working email servers . Oh, and if I have a problem, I want better than half hour waits . The help desk are resetting my port, in case that helps . It is now over an hour since I first phoned . Not to mention quarter of an hour since the help desk guy was meant to have phoned me back . I've asked him for a written explanation of why there are problems again and especially why it took so long to answer the phone . He can get his supervisor to do it, it isn't his fault, he just has to put up with irritated customers . I was in a really good mood when I first phoned, by the time they answered my call, it was long gone . So, who is the recommended broadband supplier? |

So, who is the recommended broadband supplier? Exchange problems won't be helped by changing to another ISP . Then you get them saying, its not our fault - its Telecom . Theres plenty of moans around about other ISPs taking ages to answer calls too . |

In till your local exchange is fixed changing ISP's arent going to help with your speed issue . All you can do is keep at Xtra / telecom about this problem in till its fixed Good luck! |

| 458011 | 2006-05-26 23:43:00 | Agree with posts above except if you are in CHCH or Wellington and in the Telstra cable coverage area, change to that it slaughters the TC ADSL network apparently. Be thankful its only been happening for a week, many people have been getting this crap for around 2 months. |
