2006-05-26 06:17:00 | I'd like to go to a shop and pay the same price I paid some time ago for things. Unfortunately, if the supplier raises the price, the retailer has to raise his prices. Tough.

2006-05-26 06:49:00 | We have 4 people in our flat and our average data is around 30GB and off peak around 7GB.It's interesting.I thought we use much more than this. I often use BT and so does my friend and I mainly play games online I don't think calculating upload speed would affect us much as we mainly download and I'm a little bit happy that they are changing the off peak and peak times as I always asked my friend if he could switch off the net around 11pm while I play online until 3am and after that time I would set my downloads .He usually doesn't start his downloads until 8am so it'll be still off peak. I think the plan would probably adjust another 5GB to off peak data . It'll be interesting to see what our bill looks like on the 14th of August

2006-05-26 07:34:00 | For months I was planning to run ShoutCast streaming radio from my computer for a few friends around the world now and then, and only a week ago did i actually get it working. HA.. Free uploads was the attractive thing.. Offpeak data is totally for advertising, except for a few BT users who stay up or schedule downloads..

2006-05-26 09:40:00 | No, I'm living in palmerston north doing a degree at massey I went back for holiday at the end of last year.My parents live there and I haven't been back in Hk since 1994 and I realise how NZ is so far behind to the rest of the world. I'm sure with a bit of effort NZ can at least beat australia in the future:).Please don't take it offensively.I'm not saying NZ is a bad place to live.I'm just saying NZ is one of the places that is so expensive forme it is hard to afford a living:)

2006-05-26 12:30:00 | Did they not used to do this?Nope, they didn't have the infrastructure in place to do it when UBS came out. They originally had a 10GB aggregate backhaul cap per user (and I believe no backhaul for customers in the city the ISP's ATM terminates in), then some ISP's renegotiated to a lower aggregate cap when the 3.5/512 plans came out just recently. Next month is the first month ISP's will be billed for overage (if any) so they are tightening up the reins. Be interesting to see if they're calculating in frame overhead etc as well. According to our stats, their calculations are coming in a bit lower than what we've measured our backhaul at.
