699762 2008-08-23 09:41:00 Hi Everyone!

I have just removed Ubuntu and installed WinVista Home Basic .

Now I have heaps of qusetions to ask you .

1 . I have just installed MSOffice 2003 Professional on WinVista and I just want to know where the file 'MSXML5 . MSP' is .

2 . Also whenever another user wants to user any MS Office 2003 Pro it always has to configure MS Office every time . (It should only configure it once)

3 . When I finish setting up my internet connection (on dialup) it says there is something wrong with my network adapter . I don't know what a 'Network Adapter' is . I usually plug a line into the back of my computer (when I was on WinXP) .

4 . (This is something in WinXP) When you uninstall Norton AntiVirus 2007 does it uninstall everything? I can still find LiveUpdate in my Control Panel (and it works) and I can also find LiveUpdate Notice in Start Menu>All Programs .

5 . Before I started installing WinVista Home Basic I didn't download WinVista Upgrade Advisor (I'll tell you why at the end of this thread) . Now I getting display errors and warnings saying that I need to upgrade my hardware and msking sure Hardware Accleration is on . I have a LCD Monitor . I'm just wondering if you can make the icons way smaller and stop giving me warnings . Most of the time the warnings come up when I start a game .

6 . When an application crashes and the End Program window comes up my one looks like . I've seen one that looks way better looking than that . Did you see any other looking End Program Window?

Continued from Q5

When I installed Windows Vista I booted from the disc . Thats why . I had to because I wanted to remove Ubuntu so I booted from the LiveCD and went to GParted to format the drives that Ubuntu was using . But instead, I accidently Deleted the drives . So then when I wanted to boot to Windows XP it says "Error 11 Unknown string or value" (something like that) . So I tried booting from the LiveCD again so then I might install Ubuntu again so I can format instead of Delete but instead it won't boot either so my only option is to install Windows Vista . I did a clean install to the drive I deleted but it won't work so I just installed on another drive . I was thinking to my self "what a waste of space!" .

Well, thats all I have right now . I'll add some more if I need to .

Thanks:thanks

699763 2008-08-23 09:54:00 The network adapter is your network card probably .

If you've just installed Vista, it probably needs the drivers to work

. microsoft . com/technet/security/Bulletin/MS06-061 . mspx" target="_blank">www . microsoft . com

May have something to do with that MSXML5 . MSP

It may not like Vista (Office 2003)?

Use this to remove that Symantec program completely ( . symantec . com/Support/tsgeninfo . nsf/docid/2005033108162039" target="_blank">service1 . symantec . com)

I'm just wondering if you can make the icons way smaller and stop giving me warningsRight-click the desktop, choose View, and choose between "Classic icons", "Medium icons" and "Large icons" (the default is medium).
You can make the resloution smaller as well, just ask if you need to do that, or you can keep a lower resolution and change the Icons to suit the size you want - but I'm not in front of a Vista PC to give the correct location currently.(easy to do though)

The warning are prob User Account control -

Open User Accounts by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking User Accounts and Family Safety OR if in Classic Mode you will see This window (www.imagef1.net.nz), and then clicking User Accounts.

2. Click Turn User Account Control on or off. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

3. Select the User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer check box to turn on UAC, or clear the check box to turn off UAC, and then click OK.

A reboot will be required.
