| 699522 | 2008-08-23 03:42:00 | Hi guys, for an assignment at uni, we have to create a domain controller to show connectivity between a client and server. Many of the lads/lass at uni have turned their heads to microsoft to use windows 2003 with AD/DC and what not, but i thought surely the opensource world has a way of doing this. And they do. But what happens is that I get errors after errors. following many guides and they all fail. IS there someone here who knows, or has experience with creating such a domain controller in ubuntu since thats the linux flavour i've decided to use. Cheers, X. |

Which is why i've come here in the hopes that someone who has done it before can guide me through it because frankly that tutorial hates me. hell i even tried SME server and that worked. Xcept once i created more users, i was not able to use these newly-created users to login to the domain. Don't know why. I browsed everywhere on the web based control panel but nothing worked. even did smbpasswd -l <username> to setup a password for it in samba, and it still didn't work. |
