699471 2008-08-22 22:05:00 Hi guys

After seeing one of my friend have the itouch and have a feel and touch on it, it may me wonder on some of the application on Itouch...

I know that Itouch can go online using Safari and Wi-Fi.., however i am just wondering, does the itouch support the msn messenger or any other messenger?

I haven't go online on it yet, but would like to see how it works...

any advice will be greatly appreciated...:clap

699472 2008-08-22 22:15:00 I dont think so, since its an Apple product, not an MS product

Thats if you mean, can Messenger run on it

699473 2008-08-22 22:25:00 You could always use an online option of msn.
Just enter the url into your web browser on your itouch and logon

699474 2008-08-23 00:16:00 There's a free app called Palringo IM (www.palringo.com) for the iPhone/iPod touch that you can get from the App Store (phobos.apple.com). It supports a bunch of IM services including Windows Live Messenger (formerly MSN Messenger), AIM, Google Talk, Yahoo! Messenger, Gadu Gadu, ICQ and Jabber. You need to register a Palringo account (www.palringo.com) but it only takes a minute. sal (67)
699475 2008-08-23 02:05:00 Yeah, I use Palringo on mine. Just a word of warning: The iPod will "helpfully" turn the wifi off after a couple of minutes of inactivity to save power, so you can't just leave Palringo running and receive messages if you're not actively using it. Nermal (7077)
699476 2008-08-23 03:51:00 Ive been using Palringo also... or Meebo has an iPhone / iPod Touch-specific interface :) Chilling_Silence (9)
699477 2008-08-23 09:56:00 Ive been using Palringo also . . . or Meebo has an iPhone / iPod Touch-specific interface :)

that nice to hear . .

because at the moment, i am still considering whether i should get one myself . . . .

well . i got an IPAQ 3715 with msn messenger support and Internet explorer supported . . . but the advantage iof using the apple itouch s using that as a music player and picture viewer and even movie player . .

699478 2008-08-23 16:10:00 Get a HTC Touch, far cheaper and better features. No 3G but I hardly think that's an issue considering the speeds and allowance that Vodafone offers. beeswax34 (63)
699479 2008-08-24 00:19:00 The HTC (Okta) Touch is sold only by Telecom in NZ isnt it?

Ive used them, and a myriad of other iMate / HTC devices, including custom firmware updates with additional functionality etc

They're nice, but Im yet to find one that just works for me like the iPhone does.
YMMV, so try going into a store and having a good play with the iPhone and a few other devices too :)
