2008-08-21 21:56:00 | 3 PCs on a home network, 2 have eset smart security and the other has Avast. In my network places I am able to see all shared folders on one eset pc and on the one with avast but the other pc that has eset will not appear even though it appears to be set up identically and folders/drives are shared. Windows firewall is not blocking them and last week I had AVG on the pc in question and sharing was fine. Eset smart security does not block Eset, Does it? Help would be appreciated ... Thanks

2008-08-22 00:24:00 | You will have to setup the Eset firewall to allow the network IP range through - try this,( lucky I saved it from Last time :) ) Make sure you know what your IP Range is, to find that click start/run type in CMD then ipconfig in the black window. Look for the gateway - lets say its 192.168.1.1 Now the firewall. Open Nod32 Smart security , down the very bottom left corner in small writing click on "Display" if not already selected click toggle Advanced Mode. Next on the left click on Set up - that will expand out the programs, select " Personal Firewall" then on the right in the middle you will see in blue writing " Configure rules and Zones" - Click that. In the ZONES tab (up top), you will see a button down the bottom left corner called "New" Click that - in the box that opens , call it what ever you want - Networks is always good. Next click the Address Button - Address Range - put in your IP range top box 192.168.1.1 bottom box 192.168.1.255 ( assuming thats the IP /Address -range you have) What ever your range is, the top box ends in 1 bottom ends in 255. This opens the FULL range of ip address's through the firewall. I've Tried in This picture Here (www.imagef1.net.nz) to capture as much of the instructions as I can. You can only fit so much on a 17" LCD screen

2008-08-22 11:39:00 | I had a look at this tonight and was not very successful. Diagram below explains what ipconfig came up with on both pcs but obviously I added the wrong number combination as I lost my internet connection. I have Eset Smart Security Business edition and couldnt see a "configure Rules and Zones" as you explained but somehow found where the adress range box was. Can you suggest what my settings should be please? img.photobucket.com

2008-08-22 19:22:00 | 10.1.1.2 and 10.1.1.4 may not be within the router's valid ip range, if both are getting disconnected Whats the brand/model of the router? Which one lost connection? the 1st or 2nd, or both?

2008-08-23 00:30:00 | Router is, D-Link DSL 504G Standard router from Xtra. Up until a week or so ago, all 3 pcs were networked and shared folders were all visible from all pcs. Then I took AVG off PC 2 and replaced it with Eset Smart Security. Networking as in internet connection is working fine still but sharing of PC 2s folders (MSHOME) is not visible from PC 1. Windows firewall is allowing sharing. PC 1 ... Eset AV PC 2 ... Eset AV PC 3 ... Avast AV PC 1 and PC 3 are still sharing and visible to each other, only PC 2 has gone into hiding:)
