2006-05-29 23:57:00 | someone should ring up and ask sky what the outage is for. they should at least tell you that. I don't think they're moving to their new satellite till the end of july. hey does anyone know if any changes are needed to customers dishes when sky transfers their channels to the new satellite? | lance4k (4644) | |

No changes should be needed, they are putting up the satellite in a position where the existing dish alignment will continue to work (to avoid a lot of excessive and unnecessary labour). There will possibly need to be a change made in the decoder settings, to tell the decoder to use the new satellite. |

2006-05-30 02:22:00 | Sky have run me back and confirmed that they are indeed switching over to the new satellite on 6th of june from 1am for around two hours you may have no sky due to this, They also said you will probably have to reboot your decoders for the channels to work again. | Hitech (9024) | |

2006-05-30 05:15:00 | Does that mean that my new satellte dish that will be installed on Jun 8th will get TV3 as well, as part of the FTA transmission? If so, yay!!!! I'll go rip down the old aerial from my roof personally.. ;)

2006-05-30 05:41:00 | TV3 is already transmitted by Sky along with 1 & 2. Don't rip down the aerial until all satellite moves are successful. I haven't seen anything about ther new satellite being launched, this could just be the existing back up option taking over.
