| 457512 | 2006-05-25 00:27:00 | I have a Sony Ericsson V800 mobile phone which I've been using for quite a while now without any issues. However, just this morning when I turned it on I discovered that half the keys on the phone wouldn't work! The dead keys are: Video calling button Media player button Volume up button Camera shortcut button 1, 2, 3, 4, 0 and # keys Power button (will power on the phone but not off) The phone hasn't been dropped in ages (and I mean ages) plus I'm not aware of any other physical issues which may affect it. Another problem which I'm having too (since this morning) though is that sometimes when the dead keys are pushed the phone will power off for no reason (in a complete sequence which would usually only happen if the power button was pushed). Since there don't seem to be any physical issues with it, I'm suspecting the phone's internal software (or firmware) may be stuffed. If anyone who's good with mobile phones can confirm that it would be great. Also if anyone has some kind of solution then please post it here as I really do need this thing going. :help: I got this phone second hand so trying to have the warranty invoked would be way too much trouble. I am willing to take it to a repair shop if I have to though (preferably not Vodafone because they're a rip off). |
