700668 2008-08-27 00:43:00 When I boot up Win XP I continually get the message "cmos checksum error, re-enter cpu settings in the cmos setup and save' Every time I shut down the clock reverts to the default time, 1993 so I reset the time in the Bios to no effect. I have put in two new Bios batteries to no effect. What am I supposed to be saving and how please. How do I fix the clock also. parker (14124)
700669 2008-08-27 01:01:00 Once you replace the battery, you have to go into the bios, and reconfigure the settings in the bios.

And change the time/date/year in the BIOS. Then save the settings, then reboot

700671 2008-08-28 02:19:00 I have no idea. I dont know what your system is

So, I dont know what options are in the BIOS

You would have to download the manual, or read the manual. If you have one

700672 2008-08-28 02:22:00 'Load optimized Defaults'

and if that option isn't there, 'Load BIOS Defaults'
