| 700506 | 2008-08-26 08:18:00 | I recently was asked to look at a friends laptop running windows XP home sp2, she had said it went to a blank screen after the boot screen, where the desktop should be displayed, I can see the XP boot screen, and wen it goes blak after a few seconds i can hear the windows XP login sound, Booting into safe mode works perfect, no issues. Nothing has been changed and its a random event that has started happening. Any ideas on how to get the desktop back? moving the mouse and tapping keys doesnt help, |

| 700512 | 2008-08-26 23:23:00 | Have you started in safe VGA mode? Maybe somethings changed and your monitor can't use the resolution/refresh rate your PC's putting out. Tap F8, and instead of selecting Safe Mode, select Safe VGA Mode, or Enable VGA mode, whatever it's called. |
