700214 2008-08-25 08:09:00 Windows XP- I.E. - Mcafee

Are there settings I can change in order to view thumbnail pics e.g. crash.net. Show Pictures is ON in advanced internet options. The blank thumbnails will open to show larger pics but that's very tedious. Thanks

700215 2008-08-25 22:08:00 Crash.net works fine for me. Do you have some adblocking/security software running that would block small images?
Thats the only thing I can think of that would stop thumbs loading.

700216 2008-08-26 02:39:00 thanks for reply autechre. would the adblocking/security software be to do with Mcafee. Should I be looking for settings there? bellbird (6169)
700217 2008-08-26 02:47:00 This sound like your prob ? (forums.mcafeehelp.com) Speedy Gonzales (78)
700218 2008-08-26 04:44:00 I've chkd all the those settings Speedy. I rang Mcafee who said that an M would be in the blank areas if it was Mcafee blocking the pics. They are suggesting a missing IE plugin or javascripting error. I also have a problem on some sites where the white oblong or square boxes for various options doesn't show an image or wording so I can't see what I am selecting. I don't know how to chk re plugins or javascripting error. thanks bellbird (6169)
700219 2008-08-26 06:53:00 Ah, looks like something has "crashed". :p

Javascript or other similar web scripting languages - is it enabled in the first place?

What version of IE are we talking about here, bellbird?

Cheers :)

re your question about javascript being enabled. where do I find that setting please?

700221 2008-08-26 08:41:00 I've been going through settings on my computer (not that I really know what I'm doing) and I can see that in the network and internet connection setting, Windows Firewall is ON. Should this be on too when I have firewall in the Mcafee security suite? bellbird (6169)
700222 2008-08-26 09:26:00 No, one of them should be disabled, 2 firewalls shouldnt be running.

But I dont think that'll cause this prob

Reset IE 7, (tools / internet options / advanced tab), and reconfigure it. See if that fixes it

700223 2008-08-27 04:34:00 Is that Restore Advanced Settings or Reset Internet Explorer Settings? thanks.

Oops, sorry just saw that you said Reset. I'll do that now.
