700096 2008-08-25 02:15:00 Hello Wise Friends,

I am working in a brand new Laptop (Toshiba P305-S8832) with Vista Home Premium SP1 fully updated, no viruses. In regional and language options I have installed English, Spanish and German because I use all of them in a daily basis. Now, out of the sudden the language bar is gone and I cannot use it nor it appears enlisted in available bars. The languages are listed and the bar is selected in languages options. What can I do? It was working until yesterday!

700097 2008-08-25 02:40:00 Hi. Try reinstalling the languages, perhaps? Try system restore to a previous point to see if the language bar does return.

Cheers :)

OR

Go to Control Panel > Regional and Language Options > Change
Keyboards... > Language Bar (tab) > under Language Bar > select 'Docked in
the taskbar' > click OK.

700100 2008-08-25 03:21:00 Thanks a lot Jamuz! I had tried several options I got in google and all the advices of all the fellows but only the system restore solved the issue.
It is not that the languages are not installed, is not that the bar is not selected or activated is that it suddenly just disappears without notice. I had been using the bar three weeks so far and then it just faded away. Thanks a lot friends!

700101 2008-09-21 11:15:00 Great, worked for me! Great & simple solution!

Simply check that CTFMON . EXE boots at startup (for all users) .
Use the following code (copy and paste to a . REG file) if you don't know how to add manually this executable to HKLM startup .

Windows Registry Editor Version 5 . 00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run]
"ctfmon"="CTFMON . EXE"
