699983 2008-08-24 05:58:00 today my dad wanted to go on the computer so i logged off. when he logged on to his account an error came up saying something like "the required files to log you on cannot be found and a temporary profile will be made..." or something like that

when it finally logged on all of his folders were gone and the login was completely reset. i restarted the computer but this didnt fix it, the other logins were fine though...

when i later went onto my login(now) i tried to see if i could find his files, in his documents folder there was nothing but when looked in the documents and settings folder i found his files and a temp folder as well.

ho do i get his login back to the way it was? this is not the first time this has happened as well because i remember a few weeks ago it had happened, i panicked and unplugged it and turned it back on it worked. i didnt do that this time though.

what could be the problem? is my HDD failing?

699984 2008-08-24 06:06:00 Might be a corrupt profile

You may have to do this (support.microsoft.com)
